On the way to Colorado July 5-13, 2019
We left OH on July 5 for our tour of the Northern National Parks. Our return will be Aug 25. 7-5 I probably broke my second toe on my left foot on May 25. The fracture was confirmed by MRI on June 26. I am to tape it to the great toe and to wear a post surgical shoe; healing in 6-8 weeks. 7-6 We took a country road part of the way. It was a nice change. 7-7 We are in Mark Twain Cave Campground, Hannibal, MO and this is our neighbor’s mini rig. 7-7 Hannibal is Mark Twain's boyhood home. Everything here is all about Twain. So how did Samuel Langhorne Clemens choose his nom de plume? On riverboats they were in safe water if the crew called out Mark Twain. It means they were in 2 fathoms or 12 feet of water. He did work on boats. According to a convincing Virginia City legend, Clemens acquired the nickname before it appeared in print, derived from his habit of striding into the Old Corne
